Alright finished the poem how does it sound? And those of you who are "Know it alls" please don't answer.
When the sun sets
Day turns to night
The moon will steal the sun
Then Day will be done and dark will hide the light
In the shadow of the dark
All once known becomes brand-new and strange
The world becomes an eerie place to be
Darkness creeps over mountains and the sea
Beautiful but haunting
Unknown what’s hidden in the unseen side
Does the Dark side of the Moon
Have ominous secrets to hide?
Uneasy and unsettling
Shadows dance across the wall
Midnight unfolds and wraps itself
Around the world like a blackened shawl
Night sings a menacing chant
Wishing for the black to stay
But morning will soon arrive
To bring back the golden rays of day
I don't consider myself a know-it-all, but when it comes to writing, I like to feel as though I know what I'm talking about. I have been writing for 20 years and have had several poems published/awarded, as well as songs and short stories.
So that being said, let me just tell you that if you are looking for honest opinions on your work, then this is the place to come, but you cannot pick and choose the kind of feedback you receive.
If you do not have the nerve to accept negative criticism, then keep your work to yourself.
I think your poem is all over the place. I cannot find one stanza that flows.
Poetry is much more than coming up with words that rhyme. If I have to read a poem two, or three times just to try and understand it, then obviously it is written incorrectly.
It cannot be stressed how important it is to read your work outloud.
I think your idea is a good one, but your presentation is immature.
Go back through your poem, read it outloud, see where it falls apart, and try again.
As with any type of writing, one can only improve if they go back and tweak.
Comments such as "Know-it-alls, please don't answer" is immature and it alianates you from the type of people who can really help you improve....not the way to start your writing career.

Shawls are one of the preferred clothing items of women. They are well-liked and praised the most by the feminine gender. Out of all the types of fashion accessories, shawls are the most adored. Extra soft texture, warming quality, excellent insulating and remarkable beauty are the primary features which make shawls so unique. They are made of silk, wool and cotton, no matter from which material it manufactured, all the time there are huge demand of shawls worldwide.
Shawls for fashion! Personal style and customization is an important aspect of anybody's life as it gives you a sense of identity and uniqueness among the billions of people living on this planet. All that creativity and desire to stand out can be expressed in so many different ways yet the easiest and most popular outlet is through fashion. There are just too many possibilities when it comes to designing your own shawl. The possible combinations and pairings will just never exhaust themselves and are only limited by the creativity of the designer. Of course, most will eventually hit some sort of mental block and this is where inspiration comes in.
You should always be aware of your surrounding because you never know where inspiration can strike. It can come from the people around you, events you attend or even your neighborhood. You can also research online for designs or browse catalogs and magazines. Do not forget to consider your own personality as well. Remember that even the loveliest piece of garment would do no good if it doesn't complement your personality.
3. An activity for everybody:
Designing shawls can be simple since its characteristics are not very complicated and materials can go from beads to fabric paints. Everybody (even kids!) can come up with a design which makes it a very good example as to how you can express your inner self through fashion.
