What do you wear to the opera?
I told my daughter (18) I was thinking of going to see Madame Butterfly at the Met (Metropolitan Opera House in NYC) and did she want to go. I said we’ll have to dress up.
She said I’ll wear my prom dress (a gown). I said you can probably wear the dress you wore to your cousin’s wedding (looks like a gown but short – very dressy)

I should have said that the dress she wore to the wedding was one she could have worn to the prom or on an evening out.
